As an extension of my history working in user onboarding, I occasionally had to create technical, instructional illustrations for printed and digital help guides. Technical illustrations, when rendered well, can communicate without words required, saving money on localization of text (assuming, of course, that the images also don’t need to be localized!). If you’ve ever built anything from IKEA, you’ve seen the power that these kinds of illustrations can have.
